| Frequently
Asked Questions 1. What do I wear when I come in to workout?
Generally, any type of clean workout wear in the form of shorts or pants,
t-shirts or tanks is acceptable for males and females. Please note that shirts
are required for men and proper under garments are required for both sexes. Please
refrain from wearing shirts with offensive logos or messages. Athletic shoes must
be worn while on the work out floors, although wearing flip-flops, sandals, clogs,
etc. is acceptable if you are transitioning to a yoga or pilates class.
2. I'm new to the world of fitness, is someone there to help me?
Yes, always yes. Whether it's your first work out or you've been working out for
twenty years and just need a refresher; someone on our highly qualified staff
of trainers and personal trainers will be available to assess your level of fitness
and provide specific programs to achieve your health, fitness, sports and/or activity
goals.
3. Do I need a lock for my locker? Premier
Fitness has spacious and well-appointed locker rooms complete with locker rentals
and complimentary lockers. The lockers are not self-locking and we recommend locks
be used if you are carrying valuables. We also offer for your convenience, small
lockers for securing valuables only, just outside the men's and lady's locker
rooms. Please note that any lock left on a locker at closing time, will be removed
and if necessary cut off and discarded.
4. Do you have "beginner"
group exercise classes? Yes. With a wide variety of classes on our
schedule every week you are guaranteed to find a class for the novice to the super-fit.
We have spaced classes of varying degrees of difficulty throughout the schedule
to try and accommodate as many members as we can. This is also true in our yoga
and Pilates programs.
5. Can I have my cell phone with me
while working out? While we do allow cell phones in the workout
area, we really try to discourage their use for two reasons. First and foremost,
we feel that if you're on a cell phone you're not focusing on your workout. And
after all, what are you there for? Secondly, in many cases, we have
found that cell phone users tend to be somewhat discourteous to the members around
them who are trying to focus on their workout. For these reasons, while not disallowing
cell phones, we do encourage you to move to our very comfortable reception area
to carry on your conversation. You may even elect to use one of the courtesy phones
supplied for the members located in the reception area. 6. Can
I purchase a membership for yoga or aerobics only? No. But, by purchasing
a unique offering that we call our "Premier Punch Card" you'll enjoy
the ultimate in membership flexibility. This card allows you access to the entire
facility including group classes for ten (10) visits at a reduced daily rate of
$225.00. This card is perfect for members that only want to attend special yoga
and aerobics classes on an infrequent basis.
7. I already
have a personal trainer. Can he/she train me in Premier Fitness?
Sorry, but we have to say no to this one. Premier Fitness sets and maintains very
high standards for all of our professionals, especially our personal trainers.
The only way that we can ensure our members, (those using a personal trainer and
those working out near the trainers), receive the best and safest fitness experience
is to restrict personal training in our club to "Premier Trainers."
If your trainer meets our standards we would be happy to talk with him/her about
a career with our team.
8. Does Premier Fitness provide shower
towels? For your convenience, we provide both shower and sweat towels
free of charge. Both are available from the reception desk when checking in and
we will also have sweat towels available to you at convenient locations throughout
the fitness center.
9. Can you help me choose a personal trainer?
Yes, we can assist you in choosing a personal trainer from our staff.
We have a highly qualified staff of both male and female personal trainers ready
to assist you in reaching your wellness goals. Many of our trainers possess advanced
degrees, but all possess a minimum of a nationally recognized fitness certification,
CPR certification and any number of years of experience.
10.
What is the minimum age for children to join Premier Fitness? Due
to insurance requirements, the minimum age for a child to be on the gym floor
unsupervised by a parent or guardian is sixteen. The minimum age for any individual
to join Premier Fitness without parental signature is 18. If, while on the gym
floor, the child is being supervised directly by a staff member or a personal
trainer the age requirement is waived.
